MeYouMe - Mediterranean Youth Meeting |

October 23-26, 2008
Me-You-Me is a meeting for young people from all the Mediterranean countries. It has places for about 350 young people from 18 to 26. About half will be offered to members of Italian and Calabrian organisations, and the other half to people from other parts of the Mediterranean area (about 6 participants for each Country).
Participants will be selected from the leaders of youth and student associations, with the assistance of local Italian embassies.
General Purposes of the Meeting
• Developing an attitude towards dialogue among young people living in different cultural, religious, economic and political contexts of the Mediterranean area;
• Promoting the role of young people in the creation of policies concerning education, professional training, work, culture, international dialogue, economic development, environment, human rights;
• Helping the creation of common projects among youth organizations from different countries;
• Building a public Mediterranean space for an open and methodical exchange between young people and youth organizations;
• Urging the people in charge of national and local governments of the Mediterranean area, as well as international bodies, to a more conscious promotion of youth policies.

The initiative was agreed by:
- International Youth Forum (it has offered its cooperation for the sensitization of 60 adhering organizations and for the thematic working groups);
- Csv.net (National coordination of the Service Centres for Voluntary work) (it has offered its cooperation to develop the topic about “Young people and social commitment”);
- National coordination for the Policoro Project of the Italian Church.
The Italian Delegation of the European Commission have also offered their cooperation.
The Senate of the Italian Republic and the Chamber of Deputies have granted their patronage.
Official languages of Me-Me-You are Italian, English and French.
Title of 2008 edition is “Young protagonists in a Mediterranean public space”.
